3rd Annual Shakopee Lions Euchre Tournament!

The Shakopee Lions Club is hosting a 4-Handed Euchre tournament at the Shakopee

VFW hall, a fun event aimed at supporting community projects.

Tournament Rules Overview

Tournament Rules:

  • The day will start with Pool Play
  • Pool winners will advance to a single elimination bracket tournament
  • Check in is at 9:30am, with Pool Play starting at 10am sharp.  Do not arrive at 10am!!
  • Champions are estimated to be crowned by 4pm


Game Play Rules:

  • 4 handed - Teams of 2
  • Order of power is right-left-ace-on down.
  • Dealer will have 4 cards left and will flip up trump.
  • If everyone passes and the flipped-up card is turned down, we go around again for someone to call trump. If the dealer does not call trump, the deal is passed to the left.

 

Scoring Rules:

  • 3 or 4 tricks is 1 point
  • Getting all the tricks with everyone playing is 2 points
  • Going alone and getting all the tricks is 4 points
  • Going alone and getting 3 tricks is 1 point
  • Getting set in any fashion is 2 points for the setting team
  • Play to 10 points to have a winner


Cost:

There is no charge to play in the Euchre tournament. There will be a lunch served by the VFW for $40 per person ($80 per team) to benefit the Shakopee Lions Club. Feel free to donate above and beyond. Lunch will be served 2-3 games into the tournament.

Pre-Register:

Teams must pre-register no later than March 3rd. It is imperative that if you sign up, you show up, as pool play depends on the right number of teams!! Questions can be routed to Lion Andy Frank at andrewfrank@entiretywealth.com.

Why:

It is a day of entertainment playing cards (pool play with teams moving on to bracket play leading to a Champion) all while benefiting your local community.
